Joseph N. Filosa, CFP® Financial Advisor, Principal
Joe Filosa’s primary role is developing short- and long-term financial plans for Opal clients. He specializes in retirement, insurance, and financial strategy planning. But he believes that even the best plan is just a document. The magic is in implementation, constant review, and helping clients as they navigate life’s financial challenges. With a working-class background, Joe understands the difficulties people face in creating new futures. Through a highly relatable approach, he helps clients articulate what they really want to do—and empowers them to progress from describing goals to accomplishing them.
We listen with care. By combining our understanding of clients’ dreams with our deep knowledge of how to alter the financial future, we help make new realities possible.
Prior to working with Jesse Giordano and Lee Korn to found Opal Wealth Advisors, Joe was a financial advisor with the 360 Group at Morgan Stanley. He joined Morgan Stanley while still a college student.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baruch College of the City University of New York. He went on to earn his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. As a married father of two children, Joe is deeply committed to improving young lives. He volunteers to teach financial literacy skills to youth and adults in underserved communities. He also sits on the Board of Advisors at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Academy.
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. (CFP Board) owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, CFP® (with plaque design), and CFP® (with flame design) in the U.S., which it authorizes use of by individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
