Katherine M. Dean, CFP® Managing Director of Operations
Katherine Dean leads daily operations and ensures a smooth flow of information between all departments. She’s dedicated to fulfilling client requests in the most timely, professional and friendly manner. Katherine holds herself and her team to the highest level of accountability. She stays on top of all compliance and regulatory matters, and makes sure client communications are open and transparent.
Opal’s smooth operational structure lets our team stay focused. With our backend processes working seamlessly, we’re able to come in every day and give our all to helping clients achieve their goals.
Before joining the team at Opal, Katherine used her 20 years of financial industry experience to run her own women’s empowerment and coaching organization, Living Your Worth, Inc. Prior to that, she was a group director at Morgan Stanley, managing the operations team. Previously, she held positions at various firms as both a relationship manager and an operations and compliance manager.
Katherine earned both her MBA and BS degrees from Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY. She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. A passionate advocate for women and girls, she serves as a board member for Girls Inc. of Long Island and has been a Girl Scout Leader since 2011.

(CFP Board) owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, CFP® (with plaque design), and CFP® (with flame design) in the U.S., which it authorizes use of by individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
